Thank You
A few years back I began adding a pre-meditation and post-meditation bow gesture and out loud “thank you.” The “thank you” is to nothing and no one in particular, but simply an expression of thanks for having the chance to be conscious, to be alive in this moment. This chance is not of my doing, so I suppose the thanks is to whatever doing has led to this chance that I have. The bow and “thank you” is an opportunity to slow and connect with the genuine feeling of these words rather than merely saying them out of habit. The first time I say them inevitably is habitual, and then I repeat as needed until I really feel the “thank you.”
What does a genuine ”thank you” feel like?
Now I want to take this chance in this moment to thank you. Thank you for reading this. Thank you if we’ve worked together in some way. Thank you if you’ve listened to a course or a meditation of mine. Thank you for your support. Thank you for any way in which you’ve let me connect to your life. And thank you for being You.
Thank you!
*And a special thank you and happy birthday to my awesomely creative and talented mom!
THANK
YOU!
***On a final note, I’ve added an option at the end of these blog posts for you to make a small contribution if you’d like. Please only do so if you feel moved to, and know that your donation goes directly toward helping me continue to provide affordable individual guidance as well as create new content, such as this blog, in the name of increased well-being and reduced psychological suffering. One particular project I’m currently working on is a book that encapsulates my psychological, philosophical, and spiritual perspective on getting to know oneself deeply and getting out of one’s own way. If you’re so inclined, your contribution would support these efforts and would be greatly appreciated (click the button below to donate). Thank you for being here!
